Yield Party, April 16, 4:00 p.m.

The Yield Party is set for Saturday, April 16, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the residence of Christina Cragholm and Andrew Bogan. See map below for directions. Note that we'd like to have as many young, undergraduate alumni as possible in attendance.

There were nine people admitted to the Class of '09. The two Early Decision applicants, Park Hyun-su (Daewon) and Won Shin-jae (Minjok), have already accepted admission, and will attend the event. However, we still have to persuade the seven Regular Decision applicants. They are Lee Choong-min (Daewon), Lee Hyun-jung (Daewon), Kim Injoong (Ewha), Baik Tahai (Hanyoung), Lee Sang-kyu (Incheon Science), Kwak Ji-yong (Minjok) and Yang Il (Minjok). Let's pour on the Tiger charm!

Yield Party Tentatively Set for April 16

We should know the results of the RD (regular decision) admissions in early April. Andrew Bogan and Christina Cragholm have graciously offered us the use of their home as a venue for a Yield Party, which is a congratulatory gathering of all of the admitted RD applicants. The date is tentatively set for April 16, so mark your calendars, and visit this site from time to time for updates regarding the specific time and directions.

Walk straight out of Exit 10 of City Hall station (Subway Line 2). Walk past the Korean Air building, about 50 meters or so, and then turn right (at the corner of the Koryo Sam-Gye-Tang shop). Walk about 30 meters, past the big blue KT sign, but before the parking ramp, and turn left. The entrance to the PaiChai Building "B" will be on your right. There's a revolving door and a regular double-door. Take whichever one is open, then take the elevator to RHJ. RHJ is on 6th floor.

Roughly 70% of Applicants from Five Schools

Out of 102 applications, 69 came from the following five schools: Minjok (20), Daewon (17), Seoul Science (13), Hanyoung (10), and Seoul International (9). Only three other schools had multiple applicants: Taejeon Christian (6), Seoul Foreign (2), and Incheon Science (2). Twenty-three (23) other schools contributed a single application, so a total of thirty-one (31) schools submitted applications.

One important note: Last year, only two (2) students from Seoul Foreign School applied to Princeton, both RD. One declined an interview because he was accepted ED at Columbia. The other was admitted and matriculated, Ery Shin '08. So, as you can see, we cannot base our recruiting efforts on raw application numbers.
